Every Saturday we're up and at 'em early to create beautiful bouquets for Poppy Lane Design brides everywhere! Sometimes there is a moment between all the chaos, that you stop and think: WOW! That's what happened on Mollie's wedding day with this amazing, solid peony bouquet captured by Josh McCullock.
How great is this matching lace wrap and paper tag label?
Mollie's dress matched her personality: classic and timeless. Even the white Oxford shirt she wore to get ready is a classic in any girl's wardrobe! It just makes sense for an evening as glamorous and elegant as this, Gaillardia Golf and Country Club was the only spot. The room was filled with ivory dining tables, rich brown garden chairs and soft lighting. Four tapered antique mercury vases lined the long head table down the center of the ballroom. Atop of the shining vases were fragrant spheres of blush and ivory hydrangeas, roses and peonies. Low twinkling glass candle votives were mixed at the centerpieces base.
The rest of the guest tables had romantic arrangements in ivory, blush and light pink with pillar candles all around the room. When the ballroom lights were turned down low, the four corners of the room glowed with soft spotlights (from Innovative Event Solutions) and candlelight. We were so thrilled to be a part of Mollie's wedding day and hope that the happy couple looks back on their wedding day with joy for many years to come!
No matter who the man is standing to your right on the Big Day, there is nothing like your sister being by your side! We can't imagine a more perfect moment than this one, captured by Lacey's mom of her two beautiful daughters.
This is the story of a family very close to our hearts. Nancy (Mother of the Bride) taught Kindergarden to Kelly's oldest daughter! Handling all of those precious kiddos didn't stop her from being there for Lacey during every step of the planning! And, while she helped tie the "Goodbye!" ribbon wands, Lacey's Dad custom-cut wood discs for the table centerpieces!
Lacey's bouquet will go down in Poppy Lane Design history as one of our favorites! It was large, soft and romantic filled with only the absolute best blush peonies, peach garden roses, and ivory ranunculus and hydrangeas. That beautiful November weather made the flowers bloom into a spectacular bundle of dreaminess. Lacey's sister Bailey and the bridesmaids carried blush hydrangeas, pink ranunculus, and silver brunia pods and dusty Miller leaves. The bouquets were the perfect accessory to the girls' blush dresses and pearls. And no bridesmaid is complete without a groomsmen in small boutonnieres with silver dusty Miller leaves and brunia pods and ivory miniature garden spray roses.
Two of our favorite spots at the reception were the cake and guestbook tables. Each table had a collection of glowing ivory pillar candles and mason jars covered in vintage lace. In addition the Lacey's beautiful 5-tiered cake covered in peach garden and miniature spray roses, there were fluffy frosted cupcakes and cookies in wedding gown shapes. The table was filled with antique treasures including a suitcase for the cake stand, wooden trays for the cookies, and a sap bucket filled with ivory and blush hydrangeas and curly willow branches.
Finally, a tall cylinder wrapped in ivory lace and burlap embellished the table when the guests grabbed ribbon wands to wave "Goodbye!" to the bride and groom. It's safe to say this wedding was full of dreamy flowers, sweets and the perfect couple!
Cheer to the newly weds!

…It’s okay to pick your jaw up off the floor, now.
If the words “vintage elegance” mean anything to you, do
n’t look any farther! Kirby and Lane’s nuptials at The Crescent Hotel in Dallas were adorned with the most beautiful red peonies we could ever get our hands on! Kirby’s bouquet was made of solid red peonies, most of which were fully open to reveal their wonderful frilly centers. Seriously, show stopping. As for her ladies in red (the bridesmaids), they carried smaller bouquets with another gorgeous red peony and touches of deep eggplant calla lilies and sweet peas. To lighten the entire look, scabiosa pods, dusty Miller leaf, anemones, peach garden roses, and white sweet peas were wrapped between each rich color. All of the bouquets were wrapped in rich, crushed ivory satin.
Even though her bouquet was enough to take your breath away, we had work to do in that beautiful space! The aisle framed by chocolate chairs and draped with soft, white sashes that had small embellishments of white and red astilbe with a single champagne rose. At the end of the aisle, completely covered with white and red rose petals, were two large black urns awaiting the couple. Each was filled with dancing curly willow branches, fluffy white hydrangeas, and you guessed it, those red peonies.
We were so thrilled to be a part of Kirby and Lane’s special day in Dallas and wish these two the best as newly weds!
Congratulations and Best Wishes,
The Poppy Lane Team
